Live Feed - Monday, July 10, Part 2
So, I imagine there are one or two people out there that read and enjoy these recaps, and I appreciate it. Unfortunately, ABC has decided to go ahead and add six more hours of live feeds on Tuesday/Wednesday nights. I don’t have the time, mental capacity, or physical capability to do thorough recaps of 14 excruciatingly dull hours of live feeds each week, in addition to the actual episodes. I apologize. So, the recaps may get a bit shorter and bitchier, simply for more own sanity. I hope that’s OK. On to the live feed!
- We start with Ori calling them into the confessional, one by one.
- Stephanie:
- Who would you say is the most fake person in the house?
- Either Mike or Holly.
- Holly is mostly naive, whereas Mike is just playing a character. They got along well in the beginning, but he’s admitted that he’s a completely different person. He’s not being himself.
- How are you going to change your game now that you know the other side has voted for you?
- She knew going into that challenge that, if her team lost, they would all vote for her. It wasn’t a surprise or shock at all.
- There’s no need for her to change her game at this point.
- Will you remain with your alliance for the rest of the game?
- They’re calling themselves a “workable bond”, rather than an alliance. That’s cute.
- She feels very good about their group. If the viewers don’t like her group, she’ll re-evaluate. For now, what she’s seeing from the viewers is that they like her and her group.
- She waves good-bye. She’s so cute.
- Gene:
- Who would you say is the most fake person in the house?
- Mike. He’s an ass.
- Then, he retracts that - Holly changes her alliances every week based on what she thinks will benefit her the most. She started with Alex and Jacob, then she was friends with Joy, then Ashley, and it keeps changing.
- The live feed messes up again, so I can’t hear the next question. It has something to do with Kevin.
- Gene says that the vote, for him, was about who was most likely to come back. That’s such a cop-out. “I voted for Kevin because I didn’t want Ashley to come back.”
- He said there was no way he was sending Stephanie to limbo, because she’s in his breakfast club and he likes her.
- Gene said that he want to win against the best competitor, and not against lesser players.
- Do you think it’s fair that some players don’t follow the rules that viewers impose? Do they deserve our votes?
- Absolutely not! He does exactly what the viewers say, and he doesn’t cheat.
- He did three wardrobe changes with nothing but Jeffrey’s clothes. That’s awesome.
- Gene has no sympathy for anyone who doesn’t follow what we’re voting for, because we’re voting to see them do it, not to see who comes up with the most creative loophole. I agree. Well, I mean, the votes are stupid, but I agree that they need to do whatever the vote was.
- He points out that the only other person who is doing everything we said is Steph, but she changed mittens at one point. I don’t think we ordered them to wear the same pair of mittens the whole time, so that’s OK - especially if, say, she spilled food on them or accidentally caught them on fire or something (What? It could happen!).
- When he returns, Joy gives him a hard time for saying Stephanie was the best date. He tells her to go on a date with him.
- Mike:
- Who would you say is the most fake person in the house?
- Erica. Huh. I would have guessed Steph or Joy, because he hates them. Ah, well.
- Naturally, he amends to say “Erica and Stephanie”. He says that what we see on camera is not their real personalities. I’ve seen enough of the videos (all of them) to think that he’s lying.
- What is the #1 character attribute that will score you the most points with the public?
- Choking on something and having to leave? Is that a character attribute?
- He mentions having compassion, and I’m afraid I’m laughing too hard to have any idea what he says after that.
- If Kevin does not come back, will you change your game or alliance?
- He will have to modify his plan to some extent, yes.
- His alliance doesn’t have the numbers, and it has people who have been team captains, so it’s not strong without Kevin.
- He will not work with Erica or Joy, but he could work with Jeffrey and Gene if necessary. He could pretend not to hate Stephanie to help him win. I wish there were a way to tell her that. “@TGHStephanie If @TGHMike starts being nice to you, it’s b/c he knows he’s screwed. He told us. #TheGlassHouse.”
- Holly:
- Who is the most fake person in the house?
- She says that it’s Stephanie. The live feed messes up again, so I miss why. Oh, darn.
- Steph is passive aggressive? I haven’t seen that in any of the thousand hours I’ve wasted on this awful show. I’ve seen it in other people, but not Stephanie. Then I remember that Holly likes to use words, even if she doesn’t understand the meanings.
- Who is your alliance? Do you plan on changing? (I paraphrased this - don’t want to rewind).
- We know that it’s Andrea, Mike, Ashley, and Kevin. She’s not changing.
- She claims this is because she loves her current alliance, but it’s really because everyone else hates her.
- Do you think, if it came down to it, would you be able to have an alliance with Erica?
- No.
- Because she’s Holly, she talks for 5 minutes after that, and ends up saying that yes, she could have an alliance with Erica.
- Erica:
- Most fake person, again.
- Holly. I typed that before she said it, so she’s right when she says it’s not much of a shock to anyone.
- She attributes a lot of it to age, but much of it to Holly’s constant lies.
- Would you ever be in an alliance with Mike and Kevin?
- No. She wants to keep around people that she trusts and enjoys being around, at least for now, and she doesn’t have any connection with either of them.
- She’d rather be in the final five with her friends.
- Would you hook up with Chef Todd?
- She does find him somewhat attractive.
- Chef Todd is much more the type of guy she’s usually attracted to than your basic hunky beef stick. Brains are more important than looking good (take that, Kevin!)
- She said that hooking up would depend on how the date went. She’s so cute.
- Andrea:
- Why are you such an uptight bitch? (Ok, that was my question, which wasn’t asked. Sad.)
- Who is the most fake person in the house?
- Stephanie. It sounds as if the others have put a target on her back. Anyway, Andrea says that she’s cutesy and up in the live feeds, and even though she’s like that in real live, it’s annoying.
- That’s not fake.
- What is the most difficult moral decision you have made?
- She hasn’t had to make any difficult moral decisions. She just sits around looking pissed and judging everyone.
- She claims that she considered all of this in advance, and there were no difficult moral decisions.
- The hard part is that she can’t sometimes give the viewers what they want - like with the half shirts. Shut up about the half-shirts. We get it. Except for that part where your swimsuit is cut half way to your navel.
- Sleeping in a bed with Jeffrey was a hard thing? But she didn’t do it. So, I’m not sure how that was a difficult decision. It’s pretty easy for me to decide not to sleep with someone.
- If the alliance you are in breaks up, who would you align with and why?
- She wants to stay with Kevin. That is the alliance you’re in, sweetie.
- She thinks they could team up with Gene and Joy. I sincerely hope that Kevin doesn’t return.
- Jeffrey:
- Most fake person in the house?
- He stresses “at the moment” which makes me think that he wants to say Ashley.
- Anyway, he says Holly, although he thinks it’s more about hiding her true self than intentionally being fake.
- Does anyone else wonder how this show might have been different if we’d had Melissa?
- What is your strategy this far into the game? Who is your biggest threat?
- He’s been trying to project a week ahead, and he’s not sure he’ll be able to keep doing that, because the game changes so often.
- The biggest threat, unfortunately, is Erica because they’re so similar. Gene and Kevin are also big threats, for different reasons.
- Why is it difficult for you to communicate with Kevin and Mike?
- He doesn’t think it is. Ori, “Well, they think so.” I don’t. Don’t speak for me, Ori. Especially if you’re going to keep ignoring all my tweets.
- He just thinks they were very misguided in their haste to protect Andrea.
- They’re telling stories and jokes. It’s not worth staying up until 3 am, which is really all you need to know. Erica says that her jokes are much more off-color than the one that she told, which was not original.
- They start talking about how Stephanie makes “mocktails” when she doesn’t have alcohol. Erica says that Steph is just classy. Steph tells them about a trip she took to Napa with a friend, making videos where she’s really pretentious about wine. I want to see that video.
- Erica starts telling a story about a trip that she took, but someone else is having another conversation closer to the camera, so I only catch random bits like “jello shot Easter egg hunt.” One of her friends filled all the yellow eggs with tequila? That’s awesome. I wish I could hear more of this, but it’s a microphone issue, so I can’t really break it up. She talks about the air mattress, and then it cuts to Jeffrey….
- …. Talking about school lunches? I feel like I missed something here, because that’s not an obvious segue from what they were talking about. Anyway, Joy wants a healthy school lunch option for her daughter.
- Stephanie says that the default should be healthy, not fatty.
- Why does Andrea look so pissed? Does she want her kids to eat crap at school?
- Erica mentions that the hormones in the processed foods are really bad for us. Playing video games and sitting around is bad, and it makes people fat, but she’s glad that she got boobs as a result.
- Andrea says that it’s OK for schools to endorse healthy foods without taking away the parent’s right to make a decision for their kids. I’m confused. Does she also oppose only serving garbage and not letting parents bring in healthy food? Or is she just saying that the school should offer options and let the parents decide? I think that was the same point that Joy and Stephanie made.
- Jeffrey points out that it’s way cheaper, faster, and easier to eat crap, and that’s a problem.
- They chat about healthy eating, why America is fat, school, lunches, etc., until Ori tells them that it’s time for Todd to leave. They’re all very sad to see him go. Gene notes that they were more upset to see Chef Todd go than Jacob. Ha!
- Ori tells them to have another cocktail and chat, and Mike notes that there’s 40 minutes left. I don’t think I’ve seen 3 hours, 20 minutes.
- Ori asks them to make private limbo pleas in the confession room, since the West Coast just joined. This is good, since I missed it the first time.
- Andrea: Kevin. Duh. Whatever.
- Holly: She wants Kevin back. That’s another reason for me to vote for Ashley. She says what Gene said earlier - she wants to compete against the strongest people in the house.
- We missed something, but when we go back into the kitchen we hear Mike say, “What are you saying about Stephanie?!” Gene: “I’m saying she’s not very tall.” Ha! Well, I guess no one is going to argue with that - especially compared to Gene.
- Mike: We know he wants Kevin back. He thinks that having Kevin in the house will keep him there? Hmmm...
- Gene: He already told us Kevin.
- Erica: She’s so pretty. She also wants Kevin back. Do any of these people understand that they’re playing to win? Ashley won’t win. Kevin can. Let her come back, so you don’t have to worry about being Team Captain for awhile.
- Jeffrey: He wants Ashley back, because that’s unexpected. It also makes sense. It’s not personal, it’s about the game. This is their big chance to beat him. THANK YOU, JEFFREY, for being logical.
- Stephanie: She tells us that Ashley finally moved up from last into second-to-last. Then, she says that they sent Kevin to limbo, because she didn’t want to vote for herself. Between the rest, Mike was most likely to be in the bottom this week, so they left it up to the viewers - they don’t want to give him immunity if he comes back. They really do think that Kevin will be coming back. But, if he doesn’t - that would be awesome. I love her. She realizes that it’s more strategic to go up against the person she has a better chance of beating.
- Joy: She wants Kevin back, because Ashley is annoying. She thinks it would be better for her. I think she’s probably wrong about that.
- Ori tells us that it’s Holly’s birthday. They already ate lava cake, so I don’t know what they doing to celebrate. Ori lets the viewers vote to give Holly a funny t-shirt or dumbbells. She wants the funny shirt, because they have a shake weight. Everyone else wants her to get dumbbells, if she’s willing to share.
- She got a pink t-shirt, which reads, “It’s my birthday, and all I got from the viewers was this lousy t-shirt.” That’s awesome. I would wear that shirt with pride.
- Ori tells them it’s ending, but, of course, it isn’t. They say good-night. Whatever. Mike gives this bullshit line that people need to vote for him because, as the oldest in the house, he’s going to die first. It’s really not funny.
- In the bedroom, Gene tells Mike that he has a baby face, and he’s afraid the viewers are going to make him shave, because his facial hair grows so slowly. Is anyone else getting ready to send Gene a tweet requiring him to shave.
- In the living room, the ladies talk about tweeting. That’s not really any more interesting than reading the tweets themselves.
- Cut to the kitchen, where Stephanie is cleaning up. People are walking around, talking. Jeffrey and Erica talk about how some of the lines written on the inside of Robin’s jeans were quotes from movies. That’s hilarious.
- Apparently, Erica’s story has a lot of profanity, because almost every other word is bleeped. But it’s about another comedian insulting her by pulling a line from a drag movie. I guess he didn’t think she would have seen it, and she had.
- We see Joy and Holly talking. We can't hear what they're saying. Oh, well.
