Monday Live Feed, Part 2
- Joy is talking to Kevin about how he chose Robin over Erica. He says that Erica makes him laugh and is funny, but it’s about who would benefit him in the game. He says, “If the viewers don’t like it, off I go.” He also points out that he doesn’t owe Erica anything. Joy tells him that he had several other options. “I went with the rest of the house.”
- Joy tells Kevin that she asked, in her #Fanswer, if Kevin was a jackass for voting against Erica. Kevin gets pissed and starts yelling at her. Kevin tells Joy to mind her own business. She reminds him that Kevin has made a lot of comments about her and Gene. Mike sits down to join a conversation that has nothing to do with him, and to be a jackass.
- I hate Mike. I’m sorry.
- No, I’m not. He’s a complete jackass. He accused Joy of using Gene and acting like she cares about him to get ahead in the game.
- Gene interrupts the fight and calls for “quiet time.”
- Ori calls Mike into the confessional.
- Andrea and Kevin are talking, at a table full of people. Joy says something, and Kevin freaks out that she’s intruding on a personal conversation…. at a table that everyone is sitting at. Everyone is there.
- Ok, Joy does cross a line when they’re arguing, and she tells Kevin to “be a policeman, pull out a baton, and explain it to” her. Now, everyone is upset. I hate to agree with Kevin, but that comment was offensive.
- Kevin says that he does contribute, and people know where he stands. There is some discussion as to whether Jeffrey know where Kevin stands on Prop. 8.
- In the confessional, Ori asks Mike a question that gets cut off:
- Insecurity or a control issue?
- Mike says that he only says that he acts like he prefers dumb women to piss off Stephanie, Joy, and Erica. It’s not true.
- If you could duct tape one person’s mouth shut, who would it be?
- I’m assuming he’s thinking of Joy before Ori finishes the question.
- Yes.
- He says Joy just talks without listening, whereas Stephanie is also brilliant, but she listens to opposing viewpoints.
- Back in the yard, Stephanie is trying to call Joy down. She walks away to take a moment alone, and compose herself.
- Back to Mike - Who is the weakest link on your team?
- *cough*Holly*cough*
- Who is sending him these ridiculously easy question?
- He says Holly, because no one else respects her, so it’s not really her fault.
- Then, he notes her crappy gameplay, which is her fault. She’s an easy target, because of all the lies.
- Mike tells Jeffrey that he is grateful for his cooking, and he loves it. I didn’t know he was capable of saying anything nice.
- Joy is in the bathroom, and we watch her walk down the hall into the bedroom. Not sure why. She joins Jeffrey and Stephanie outside and tells Steph that she will be happier and much better.
- Ori calls Stephanie into the confessional, and plays the sound of a beer opening. That’s awesome.
- She must be drunk, because she’s talking to herself the whole way in there.
- Do you think if you let people see how smart you are, that you will alienate the house or the viewers?
- She hopes that being smart doesn’t alienate people. We all have different gifts - athleticism, social skills, etc. Her skill is solving puzzles.
- Some people can be arrogant about it, and that’s where you alienate people, but she hopes she’s not perceived that way.
- “Be who you are, but don’t be arrogant about it?” I love her.
- Why have you been playing both sides of the fence, and putting Robin’s character down?
- She doesn’t think that she’s been playing both sides of the fence. Ori: “They do.”
- She feels like she’s playing with the “character” of Robin, and not a real person.
- I honestly don’t think she was playing both sides of the fence.
- Stephanie thinks that Robin planted the literal crazy pants, as part of her “crazy Aunt Robin” character.
- Would you consider forming an alliance with Kevin?
- She feels comfortable with the people she is with for now. She likes Kevin, and the game changes constantly.
- She would not join any alliance that Mike was a part of, so there will be no Kevin/Steph alliance as long as Mike is in the house.
- Mike is trying to pick weak players to manipulate. She can work with and trust Kevin, but not Mike.
- Joy and Gene are having an emotional talk about what jerks Kevin and Mike are. It sounds like Joy is offended at the idea that they don’t think she would be attracted to Gene. She says there’s no possibility she would have any romance with the other men.
- Gene apologizes for putting her in that position, for making it clear that he was interested in her. She said that it’s not his fault, because she feels closer to Gene than anyone else.
- Mike is bitching to Kevin that the fans asked him why he likes dumb women. He acts like he doesn’t understand why anyone would ask him about this. All he’s done, since the beginning, is talk about how he likes dumb women. That’s why.
- Kevin acts like he didn’t make out with Erica the night before he voted her out, but based on the Tweets and stuff, I really still don’t think that much time passed. I assume Kevin doesn’t know what the tweets were, or he wouldn’t be trying to confuse the viewers.
- They’re upset that Ori is asking them difficult questions in confessional. They should be glad it’s not happening in front of the entire house.
- Everyone is in the yard, playing ball and chatting. Nothing too exciting.
- Ori calls Gene into the confessional.
- Hearing Kevin argue with Joy, why didn’t you defend her? Is it because you agreed with him?
- He was trying not to listen. He’s upset by the death of his friend, trying to cook, and he has other things going on than the decision. He doesn’t want additional drama.
- I don’t blame him. Good for him to just walk away.
- Which of your housemates do you trust the least?
- Mike, primarily because they talk the least. He doesn’t really know them.
- He doesn’t feel like he has a real connection with Holly, but he doubts she has any sort of diabolical scheme to get him out.
- If Robin comes back into the house, it would be Robin.
- “And I just dropped my creamy Caesar dressing.” Ori, “You can pick it up.” Awesome. I guess he got distracted and has been carrying it around for like half an hour.
- Who do you think is the most disrespectful person in the house?
- He said Joy can be disrespectful at times.
- He can’t tell whether Mike really is being sarcastic or just a jackass, so he thinks that is also very disrespectful.
- Definitely not Kevin or Stephanie. Doesn’t think it’s him.
- “Thank you, that is all. Please take your dressing and head out.” I heart Ori.
- Jeffrey is called into confessional.
- He invites Ori to have a good time when the show ends, and she accepts.
- Do you think Joy cries too much?
- No. She’s a very emotional person, and that’s OK.
- He’s not personally invested in her tears, but he supports her right to be emotional. “Sometimes the strongest people are also the most emotional.”
- Can you separate your personal politics from your gameplay?
- He says yes, but I’m not really sure it’s true.
- He says that only his right to be treated as an equal is the only hot button issue for him. The camera moves to Andrea doing handstands in the yard. Anyway, it’s such an important issue to him, he draws a line of morality, and he’s using that one issue to decide who to vote for. It’s about being shady to him, and that gives him the right to be shady back. Voting against someone’s right to marriage qualifies as “shady” in my book.
- Who is the biggest bully in the house?
- He thought it was Alex. His gameplay was weird.
- Now, he doesn’t think there are any real bullies. People throw the word around, because of the stigma, but that’s not the same thing as actually being a bully.
- Joy and Mike debate and give back and forth, but that’s not the same as being a bully.
- Back in the house, Andrea is telling Mike that she’s tired of seeing Joy’s boobs. What about Holly? Mike says that he agrees with her on most issues, but he doesn’t like the way she expresses them, so he won’t talk to her about them. He accuses her of lobbing insults, which I really haven’t seen from Joy.
- Holly is called in to the confessional. She pretends to be so religious, this shouldn’t be that difficult for her.
- Really, if you look at her feature and her face, she’s not pretty. She also just said “chillaxing” and “the usu.”
- I love you! Who do you think is more annoying in the house? Pick a boy and a girl.
- She thinks Stephanie is annoying, because she asks questions, and their strategy is to be secretive and quiet. Stephanie is like a parent, because she wants to live in a clean house? Holly needs to get out in the world and see what it’s like to be a real adult. Anyway, she says that it’s disrespectful of Steph to clean windows when people are trying to have a secret strategy session. Move it. Find a room with clean windows.
- For the male, she chooses Jeffrey, because she thinks it should be about the game and not politics, and that the equality issue shouldn’t be talked about in the house.
- She’s a complete bitch, on top of being annoying.
- Do you think Joy is using Gene?
- “It’s a touchy subject.” It’s important to Joy to know the real situation. Holly said that a lot of people think they’re playing each other, and there’s no real romance between them. She thinks they both know it, too.
- Apparently, the fact that they’re friends means they’re using each other? Huh?
- Do you think Erica being in limbo is karma?
- “YES!” Apparently, Erica talks about other people and plays the game disrespectfully, I haven’t seen her.
- Holly goes on to talk about her gameplay, and how she’s now very honest, and she’s not talking about Erica at all. She said that she came back with open arms, and Erica wouldn’t hug her when she left. Why should she?
- Ok, Robin went to limbo because she was team captain of the losing team. Erica went because Holly campaigned to send her there. I wouldn’t have wanted to hug her, either.
- Now, she’s trying to say that Erica coming back is “even bigger karma”, if it happens. Huh? I’m so confused.
- Back in the yard, Jeffrey was drinking water to offset the booze, and he lost that, so he assumes it’s a sign that he should drink more booze. I like the way he thinks!
- Holly and Kevin are in the bathroom, talking about the confessional. Why does everyone tell Kevin what happens in there? She says it wasn’t that important, and she said nice things about the people on her side?
- I just saw them give these answers. I don’t need to see them talking about them.
- Stephanie wanders into the bathroom, as Kevin is bitching about the way they showed his situation with Erica, and she asks if they asked him about it. He explains that things aren’t always the way they seem on the show.
- Ori welcomes the West Coast viewers as we move into the final hour. I am so glad, we’re nearly done with having to watch.
- Ori asks them again to say who they want to come in and why. If you’re curious, scroll up. I’m not recapping it again.
- Mike, Ashley, and Kevin are standing around bitching about Ashley. Ashley appears to be deeply offended that Stephanie had a question about Holly drinking. It was a legitimate question, when someone makes a big deal about being a non-drinker, and then starts asking for daiquiris. It’s especially so when it’s unclear whether there’s a religious objection, an allergy, or something like that, since Stephanie does most of the cooking and wouldn’t cook with wine if Holly was allergic to it. Also, she was talking to Holly, not Ashley, so whatever.
- They seem to think that she’s trying to invade other people’s privacy by being near them when they’re talking. It’s a tiny house. I’m sure they’re all tripping over each other all the time. Also, EVERY SINGLE TIME we see Mike and Kevin, they’re shit-talking the other players and having a “private” planning session. I guess they just want everyone else to avoid them entirely.
- Looking through the windows, Holly is talking to the viewers about 4th of July craziness. She’s apparently been talking about wanting Robin back instead of Erica for about 10 minutes. Wow.
- Holly joins the others to bitch about an innocent question Stephanie asked three hours ago. Whatever. She then repeats the questions Ori asked her. Could they maybe do this when it’s not a live feed, so we don’t have to watch it over and over and over?
- Ori tells them to divide into groups of three. Someone will not be happy with that. Whatever.
- Joy walks over to Gene and Stephanie. They inform her that it’s a drama-free zone today. They’re not talking about game play or strategy. She seems OK with that.
- Poor Jeffrey is left on a team with the Wackadoodles, although I haven’t yet seen who his specific teammates are. Looks like Mike and Andrea.
- That leaves Ashley, Holly, and Kevin. She throws out “Team Yak Attack” and then goes on and on.
- Stephanie announces that they are team “Drama Free.” Holly thinks they said, “Team Drama,” but Gene just says, “No, no. Drama free.” Holly thanks them.
- Ori wants to sing. And then she does. Huh. “La la la la.”
- A microphone falls from the sky and tells them that they’re singing in teams.
- Jeffrey is so excited!!
- One of the song choices is “The Star Spangled Banner.” I realize that it’s our national anthem, but 99% of the population simply cannot sing it properly and shouldn’t try outside a large group. It will sound terrible. The other option is America the Beautiful. Oh, no. Jeffrey doesn’t know our national anthem. Mike starts to sing it, and Jeffrey says, “That’s the baseball one, right?” I think Jeffrey is thinking of “Take Me Out to the Ballgame.” Anyway, apparently, the viewers were voting. America the Beautiful will be funnier, because it’s more likely that at least some of them won’t know the lyrics. Kevin is trying to sing it, and he clearly doesn’t know the words. See?
- The live feed crashes. Nevermind, it’s back.
- The viewers chose “The Star Spangled Banner”.
- Jeffrey, Andrea, and Mike shout it out poorly. See? It’s not good. They attempt the final note. Non-professional singers really shouldn’t do that. Ori tells them that they’re not - not sure if that’s a viewer vote or her personal opinion.
- Stephanie, Joy, and Gene are singing “America, the Beautiful.” They do OK, until they get to the high notes. Really, Ori should give them some songs that are more friendly to non-singers. Gene isn’t even really trying. Stephanie and Joy are acting the song out and dancing, though, which is cute.
- Ashley, Kevin, and Holly also sing “America, the Beautiful.” I guess the person voting realized how hard it is to sing “The Star-Spangled Banner” properly. After a moment or so, Kevin and Holly realize that they should just shut up and let Ashley sing it, because (a) she knows all the words (we used to sing it in church, and I would guess she did as well) and (b) she’s a professional singer. She’s got an interesting voice. If they had her sing all the time, I might find her less annoying.
- Ori asks the viewers which team gave the best performance. They all sit around awkwardly. I don’t have an alcoholic beverage, so I take a drink of my coffee.
- Not surprisingly, Ashley, Kevin, and Holly win. She did really well.
- There are only 22 minutes left. I’m in the home stretch. This is brutal, because I know I have four more hours to get through this evening (and I haven’t even gotten to the audio feed yet).
- They’re all just standing around, waiting for Ori to tell them what to do next. I wonder if they’re as bored as I am.
- The video feed goes totally dark. Hmmm…
- Gene and Stephanie go back to “Drama Free Corner.” I think that should be a thing that is always there as an option. They could send people there like time-out.
- In the past 6 minutes, literally, nothing has happened. We’re watching Jeffrey drink alcohol from a straw. ABC needs to re-think their format.
- Stephanie and Gene are discussing oral hygiene. No, I’m not making that up, but I wish I were.
- Huh. Joy and Kevin are in the Twitter room? Together? Kevin sends like three tweets a month, so this is interesting. He knows that ABC only shows people fighting, so he’s sending out a tweet about him and Joy fighting. He wants the viewers to know that, even though he and Joy fight on-screen, they’re still friends.
- She sends the same one.
- Then, she makes a crack about throwing Erica under the bus and calling it “Gameplay.” He says he just wants people to know that they’re not all fighting constantly.
- This would get a lot more interesting if they would make out or something. I’m bored. I’m watching them send tweets that I’ve already read.
- Joy apologizes to Kevin, because she was really mad at Mike, and she took it out on him. He understands that the House makes people fight. What’s really important is that they can remain
- Ori asks the players what is the worst thing the viewers have voted on so far?
- Joy - the mittens. Joy said all carbs was hard, but Andrea points out that they got a lot of veggies, so it was OK.
- Ashley - no brushes.
- Holly gives a bullshit non-answer and says that none of it has been that bad.
- Andrea - the mittens. Ashley wears contacts, which caused logistical issues.
- Joy also didn’t like all veggies. Holly agrees with that. I thought it was all love, rainbows, and unicorns, Holly? Why are you changing your mind?
- Ori asks them:Who Has the Worst Breath?
- Joy says she can’t even stand her own breath in the morning.
- Ashley hasn’t been close enough to anyone to notice, because most people wake up, go to the bathroom, and brush their teeth.
- Kevin, “Ori has the worst breath! She has robot breath!” Gene says it smells like anti-freeze. Poor Ori sounds hurt.
- No one else bothers to answer. They’re sitting on the lawn, cracking jokes and basically having a good time.
- Kevin is really tired of everyone fighting. Gene refuses to engage today.
- Ori tells them that the feed is almost over. THANK GOD. She gives them all time to say good-night. It’s a “free-for-all.” They all yell stuff out. I am finally done! Woo-hoo!
…..Too bad there’s another four hour feed tonight. I’ll get it online earlier this time.
- Ok, it’s not over. We get another five minutes.
- They’re all standing in the “yard,” chatting. Most of them are drunk at this point.
- Kevin is still trying to convince Joy that he didn’t throw Erica under the bus. She still doesn’t believe him. She tells him that “cop-out” is a new term in the #GlassHouseDictionary, in honor of Kevin. She tweeted it, apparently. Kevin decides to come up with a term for Joy and tweet it out. If he did, I never saw it.
- Andrea and Ashley join Gene and Stephanie in the Drama Free Zone. I think they’re talking about the half-shirts. Girls can wear a bra or sports bra, but the men just had their nipples hanging out.
- This is stupid. You can’t really hear any of the individual conversations.
