Live Feed - Thursday, June 28

  • Holly, Kevin, and Mike are tossing a football in the kitchen/dining area.  I’m really annoyed by whatever is going on with the sound.  If it doesn’t get much better, I’m going to have to find headphones.  The chimes sound, and the players gather.
  • Ori reminds the three remaining viewers that they producers are constantly monitoring their tweets and other feedback.  I wonder if that means they have a lot of free time.  She also tells them that she has her own Twitter account, and they laugh.  I guess they didn’t know that.  Ori tells the players that they’ll be answering more questions.
  • No one sits on the couch with Robin.  Interesting.  They’re all
  • Ori asks them what they think of the Supreme Court’s ruling upholding Obama’s health care bill.  OK.... I just have to say.  This is not "Obama's Health Care."  Yes, he urged Congress to work on this, but he didn't write it, and he's not the only supporter.  Calling it "Obamacare" and then dismissing it just because it has a silly name, or it's named after him, is the same kind of partisan bullshit that means this country will never achieve what it could be.  We're all too busy fighting each other to actually accomplish anything.  Weird.  Where did this soapbox come from?
    • Joy is a nurse.  She wants people to have health care.  I’d be a little weird if I had a nurse who didn’t want me to have health care.  People shouldn’t have to choose between being healthy and having a place to live.
    • Erica agrees, because she is uninsurable, and that’s bullshit.  She’s had kidney stones, and she says that’s just ridiculous, because that means people with much more serious conditions are seriously screwed.  She’s drowning in debt from unpaid medical bills, and she knows she’s not the only one.  I want to give her money.  She
    • Andrea looks pissed.  You can tell that she disagrees.
    • Ashley says that people need to value life more.  Yes.
    • Jeffrey summarizes his father’s position on healthcare, which is the opposite of what everyone else has said.  Then he explains why his father is wrong.
    • Stephanie says that no one really understands the law, because it’s not “Free healthcare for everyone!!”  She says, as a capitalist, people are afraid to leave their jobs because of health care.  It actually prevents people from taking a leap to start their own businesses, create jobs, etc.
    • Joy says that medical bills are the #1 cause of bankruptcy.  I wonder if that’s true, but I wouldn’t be surprised if she’s right.
    • Kevin says that we have enough money to take care of each other, but it’s about personal accountability.  He doesn’t think smokers or fat people deserve medical care.  Yes, he said that.
    • Robin said that Europeans come here for health care, because they don’t have it.  This is really weird, and I miss a lot of what she’s saying, because she turns to make snotty comments to Joy, who wasn’t talking.  When Joy tries to respond, Robin completely cuts her off, “Excuse me.  I was polite.”  Not right there, you weren’t.  You baited her, then yelled at her for it.  It’s weird.
    • Joy is pissed that Canadians get American-made cancer drugs at a much lower rate than what American pay here, because the Canadian government says so.  She said that this is all about greed.
    • Mike points out that his state, MA, already has “Romney-care” which is basically the same as Obamacare.  He also says that, as someone who is self-employed, he is drowning in health care costs, because he’s not super poor.  But then he tries to blame all the problems in the world on the lawyers and the politicians.
    • Erica would like to know who was on which side of the 5-4 ruling.
    • Joy wants us all to care about each other.  I’d like to hug her.  Every time she opens her mouth, I like her more.  (Not that like!  Get your mind out of the gutter!)
    • Neither Holly nor Andrea has said a word.  I imagine that’s because (a) Andrea is pissed and (b) Holly doesn’t understand what health care is.
    • Joy tells us that hospitals encourage women to have C-Sections rather than vaginal births, because they get more money for it.  Wow.
  • Ori tells the players that each of them is going to the confession room, individually, to answer questions that no one else will hear. YEEEEESSSSSSSSSS!
    • KevinHis hair bothers me.  Sorry.  I know everyone loves him.
      • Have you been using your looks to your advantage to get the female vote?
      • Kevin tells us that he thinks he’s not that great-looking, but the grin on his face suggests that he thinks otherwise.
      • He tries to say that his hair is a mess and he needs a haircut.  But he’s smiling.
  • In the living room, Joy and Robin are still talking about health care.  Joy is really passionate about this.  Good for her.  Robin is talking about trying to get her perspective across.
    • Stephanie: Do you think your rep as a Mensa member is helping or hurting you in the house?
      • She hopes that it’s helping her, at least with the other players.  She gets picked early in the challenges.
      • She also explains that Mensa is not as snobby as most people think it is, and it’s more about finding people who are accepting and really understand her.  It’s not elitist or obnoxious.  People who like nerds and fun people should like her and not judge her for being smart.
    • Mike:  Why bother?  He’s not going to give a real answer.
      • Do you feel like the other players like to cause drama and interrupt you while you’re trying to talk?
      • Yes.  He doesn’t think they respect the way that he plays the game.  By making shit up?  He swears that he keeps us guessing, but we can tell that his stories are made up.  He tells us that Joy is really rude because she interrupted him two days ago. Dude, get over it.
  • Erica invites Ori on the slutty Italy trip with Stephanie and Joy, and she agrees to go.  Totally the highlight of this hour.
  • We hear Mike telling them his question and answer so, so much for secrecy.
    • Andrea: How is it being LDS and on this type of show?
      • BORING.
      • She says it’s hard to represent her beliefs, plus, she wants to be herself and not the spokesperson for LDS.  She’s having trouble finding the balance.  I’ve yet to see her show us a belief that isn’t an LDS-belief, so I’m not sure it’s that hard.
      • I loathe her.
  • I really wish they were asking some of the really tough questions we see going through the twitter feed.  Some of these are pretty lame.
    • Holly: She’s so excited to still be in the house.
      • Now that the viewers voted you back in, are you changing how you play the game?
      • Yes, she is.  I’ve only gotten like 30 tweets from her since yesterday.
      • She said that she’s trying to be more herself, be fun, and play it smart.  I’m not sure she knows what that word means.
    • She says that she has a lot of power coming back, and she tells us that her team won yesterday, which is good.  I’m glad she said that.  I like piecing things together.
    • Jeffrey:  He asks Ori how she is doing, and she thanks him for going to bed earlier and not keeping him up.
      • Of the current housemates, who gets on your nerves the most, and who should I withhold my vote from?
      • Ashley annoys him the most.  (Ori: “No way!!”)
      • Jeffrey loves Erica and Stephanie and wants all his fans to vote for them, too.  He thinks people should note vote for Holly, because she’s so stupid that it’s actually physically painful to converse with her.  That’s hilarious.
      • “You guys clearly are not into Ashley, either, so we agree on that.  I don’t have to convince you.”  Oh, that’s wonderful.  Was she team captain twice?  Her and Holly, maybe?
  • The sound cuts out while they’re all playing football.  Erica asks if you could freeze cough syrup, kool-aid, and vodka into a shot.  What?  Ew.  Jeffrey tells her that vodka doesn’t free.
    • Ashley: Do you feel that other people in the house don’t understand your personality?
      • Wow, that’s a little harsh.
      • She says that she thinks the people in the house get her, but maybe the viewers don’t?  She’s not overly sexed or crazy, and maybe that’s not what the viewers like.
      • Then she says that the players get her personality but just don’t like it, and that makes me sad for her.
      • Ori asks her what she means about “sexed”.  Ashley explains that some people are more huggy or touchy-feeliny, Joy is very open with her sexuality, and Robin is more open, stuff like that.  Ashley is just a little more reserved.
  • Ori tells them all that Ashley was talking about them.  Ashley is less than thrilled that Ori sold her out.  Erica says she wants to go get drunk with the person controlling Ori.  I bet Ori is really a man.
    • Joy:  Mike asks her how she feels about interrupting people, and she apologizes
      • I never understood how someone with breasts that large who is so tiny elsewhere could find clothes to fit.
      • Who is your biggest threat in the house and why?
      • Kevin.  He’s a “one-man island.”  She thinks he can win this game without really trying.  She thinks he can make and break alliances, and she doesn’t really trust him.  He doesn’t really trust anyone, either, and he’s the one to beat.
      • Then, she uses the best phrase I’ve ever heard. “I can’t get him to jump on-board the Joy-Train.”  That’s beautiful.
  • Erica tells us that if she doesn’t get some sleep, she’s going to go out in the yard “like Aunt Robin,” wearing a bathrobe, searching for land mines.  I feel the need to know if this really happened, or they’re just toying with my emotions.
    • Robin: “Let’s go to church and preach the word!”  What?
      • Would you backstab a player in your alliance to win the game and the money?
      • She says no.  She claims to be the only player that came for the money.
      • She came to take risks and for the message, show her craziness, own it, and speak an anti-bullying message.  What? She's not doing any of that.
      • She tells us that Michael and Kevin are her dear friends, and they will stay friends long after the game ends.  She also mentions Holly, Ashley, and Andrea.  She says, at some point, she’ll have to vote for one of them, but she would never backstab them, and certainly not over money?
      • 1.  How is voting against them not considered backstabbing?
      • 2.  Didn’t she vote for Holly this week?  I seem to recall that Erica had one vote (from Holly), and everyone else voted for Holly.
      • I don’t believe her.  But, you know, if she doesn’t care or need the money, guess we can vote her out.
    • GeneWho in the house would be your biggest enemy right now, and should I vote to keep them there?
      • I don’t understand the question.  If you like Gene enough to ask who his enemy is, why would you think twice about voting against that person?
      • Gene tells us that he has no enemies in the house.  The people he wanted to get rid of are gone, so he’s pretty happy.
      • He does know that people have to leave before he can win, right?  I wonder how long he can stand alone and resist forming any sort of alliances.
  • He tells them that Ori asked how many times he eats in a day.  Then he said that they asked if he really likes Joy or if it’s part of the game.  She asks if that’s what he was really asked.  “It’s not the question you’re wondering about - it’s the answer.”  HA!  Anyway, he won’t say, and Joy says that she’s not speaking to him for the rest of the live feed.  He thinks it’s 15 minutes, but it’s actually 7.
  • Joy makes a joke that Erica doesn’t understand that isn’t funny.  Erica says it’s OK, because her jokes aren’t funny, either.  I know how you ladies feel.
  • Erica and Joy talk about how they want Jewish husbands, and Stephanie says she’s hoping that, by hanging out with them, her breasts will get bigger.  Joy decides that, more likely, rubbing her giant boobs awkwardly against Steph's chest is a better way.  Steph laughs and handles it more or less gracefully as Erica just tries to stay out of the cross-fire.  Erica tells them has the same hope for her brain.  She does not try to rub her brain against Steph's, which is unfortunate, because that would have been really funny.  Or, if done literally, extremely gross.
    • Erica:  I forgot she hadn’t gone yet.
      • Erica asks Ori if they still have an alliance.
      • Who in the house besides Holly would you like to see go home.  P.S. Your hilarious tweets make my day.
      • She is so touched by that last part.
      • She says that some people are coasting through and laying low.  She’d like to see Ashley go, and she agrees with the viewers.  Yeah - it sounds like she was Team Captain again.  Wow.  Erica says that she’s a camera whore, always singing and “hey, boo!”  When the cameras go off, she’s completely different.  That’s interesting, because she’s mostly in the background in the videos.
      • Holly annoys Erica because she’s just so shallow.  Erica doesn’t think sweet, pretty girls should win just because they’re sweet, pretty girls.  There are more interesting, better people in the house who should win.
  • Ori reminds us to rejoin them on Monday for the live feed.  Not gonna happen, Ori, sorry.  I have an early morning flight on Tuesday.
  • We see Robin and Holly in the pantry, as if they’re waiting for the live feed to cut out so they can start talking.  Interesting. Erica and Steph are in the kitchen, and everyone else is in the living room.  Robin moves back into the kitchen as they all say good-bye.
  • I love that they leave the feed airing after the players think it’s turned off.
  • Did someone just say that Stacey Dash looks like Lark Voorhies?  What?  Ashley tells us that someone bleached her face, but I’m not sure who she’s talking about.  Oh, Lark Voorhies.  Hmmm.... what do you think?
  • Jeffrey tells us that he had a crush on Zack Morris and A.C. Slater.  You and me both, honey.  Someone insists that Mario Lopez was on the Mickey Mouse club. I need to investigate this one, because I’m not sure.  According to Google, he was in an episode of KIDS, Incorporated.  That's all I can tell you.
  • Joy has a crush on Joshua Jackson.  I will fight you for him, Joy.  They start talking about him and I get all dreamy-eyed.
  • Kevin asks Dylan or Brandon.  Dylan.  Easily.
  • They’re all talking at once.  It’s too hard to follow them.  Stephanie liked Tuck?  What are they talking about?  Apparently, he was nice and had a kid and the other guy was a jerk.  Nip/Tuck?  Sean v. Christian?  Sorry, no contest.  Christian is sex on legs.  Ashley throws out “Sean Connery” and we fade out.
